AP English is comprised of two courses offered on alternate years,
“AP Literature and Composition” and “AP Language and Composition.”
AP Literature focuses on British and American fictional literature, while AP Language is the study of persuasive and expository rhetoric. Both courses require extensive reading and writing, as well as the development of discussion and critical thinking skills. All AP courses are challenging and require a commitment on the part of the student.
Because the courses are offered on alternate years, students have the option to take one or both, in their junior and senior years.
AP English (1104/1204)
