Congratulations to Quinton Miller! Congratulations Quinton!

Congrats to 7th grade trumpet student Quinton Miller! In January, he auditioned against students from all over northern Kentucky and was selected to be in the Northern Kentucky Select Band! This weekend he performed with students from all over the region to an audience of over 900 people!

5th grader, Adyson Kingkade, won the writing contest for Kentucky AARP Grandparent of the Year essay for the Owen County District.  Congratulations Adyson!

Flu Information

Flu Information

According to the CDC (Center for Disease Control), flu signs and symptoms usually come on suddenly. People who are sick with flu often feel some or all of these symptoms:

  • Fever* or feeling feverish/chills
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Runny or stuffy nose
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headaches
  • Fatigue (tiredness)
  • Some people may have vomiting and diarrhea, though this is more common in children than adults.

*It’s important to note that not everyone with flu will have a fever.

If you haven’t gotten your flu shot yet, it’s not too late.

Need Help With Your Home Heating Cost This Winter?

Are you in need of help with home heating costs?  An assistance program is available from January 6th through March 31st or until all funds are expended.  The program is open to income eligible households who are responsible for their home heating costs.  If you are interested or need more information, please contact the Owen County Youth Services Center at 502-484-4017.
