Dear Students and Parents/Guardians of Maurice Bowling Middle School,

Welcome to the MBMS family! It has been a great pleasure serving you as your MBMS Principal for the last 4 years. Thank you for visiting our website to learn more about our Maurice Bowling Middle School community. We are so excited for the 2022-2023 school year! Our staff works hard to prepare engaging and rewarding learning experiences for all students. We want to provide learning opportunities where all students will develop perseverance and passion for life-long learning in a safe environment. We are a PBIS school. This means that we emphasize positive behavioral interventions and support within our school. We placed high value on our partnership with parents, families, and community and invite you to be an active part of helping students to achieve their full potential. Here at MBMS we believe that learning should be engaging, challenging and fun. We will work in collaborative pairs, use technology that is student created, and practice thinking strategies in every classroom. Our staff is committed to provide students with project based learning tasks that activate deeper understanding and reach out into our community to create partnerships and connections. We encourage our students to take risks intellectually and not fear challenges, but embrace them.

Please continue to visit our website for updates throughout the year.

We have worked diligently to create a 5 year strategic plan. This plan creates an environment where students can have choice in learning activities, where failure is not an option, and students learning is visible.

If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. You can reach me at sarah.goodrich@owen.kyschools.us or 502-484-5701. We invite you to be our partners in our work. We look forward to working with families to accomplish great things for our students!

Sincerely,

Sarah Goodrich
