Hello, I am so excited to be your Principal! This is my 18th year in education. I graduated from Owen County High School in 2003. After high school, I attended Kentucky State University. While at Kentucky State University, I received my BA in Elementary Education in 2007, as well as my Master’s degree in Special Education with a certification in Learning and Behavior Disorders K-12 in 2012.  After teaching several years with Jefferson County Public Schools I went on to attend The University of Louisville where I graduated in 2016 with my Education Specialist degree with Principal and Leadership Certification. In 2020, I went back to The University of Louisville and received my Director of Special Education Certification. In my free time I love to craft and spend time with my family and friends. I live in Owen County with my  husband Marvin, and our children Weston and Jazmyne.

Hello! I am the school counselor at MBMS, Stuart Barnes.  I am ecstatic to be returning for my 2nd year in this wonderful building.  Similar to last year I will be coaching track and field for both the high school and middle school. I am originally from Trimble County where I graduated in 2012 and returned to teach for 7 years before joining the Owen County team.  I attended Morehead State University for my Bachelors degree in Health and Physical Education.  I completed 2 Masters degrees through the University of the Cumberlands.  One in Health and Human Performance and another in School Counseling.  Joining me this year will be my certified therapy dog, Reggie.  He is a wheaten terrier who loves to play and be pet.  We live in Henry County with my beautiful wife Cassey and our 2 daughters, Riley and Tatum.

Hello! My name is Jamie Bowlin and I’m your new instructional coach. This is my 8th year in education and 1st year as an instructional coach. I graduated from Grant County High School in 2006. After high school, I attended Morehead State University and received my BA in Elementary Education in 2011. I went on to University of the Cumberland's to get my Master’s Degree as a Literacy Specialist in 2017. I spent my first 5 years here at Owen County teaching 5th grade English, I have also taught Social Studies and I have been the reading interventionist. I live in Grant County with my husband, Brent Bowlin, who is the MBMS Band Director. We have 2 daughters Aria and Averie.

Hello, I am Britany Colligan. I am excited to be returning to MBMS this year as the Attendance Clerk. I began my career at MBMS in 2021 as the Bookkeeper and transitioned to Attendance Clerk in 2023. I graduated from Owen County High School in 2011. I have accumulated significant experience in the administrative field through a variety of hands-on roles. I live in Owen County with my husband, Michael, and our children Brayden and Allie. This year is shaping up to be especially exciting for our family as we prepare to welcome our third child in December! Outside of work, I enjoy camping, being outdoors and spending time with my family and friends.

Hello, I’m Emma Collins and I’m delighted to return for my 2nd year as the Bookkeeper and Secretary here at MBMS. I graduated from Owen County High School in 2007. After High School, I moved to Georgetown where I gained extensive experience in administrative support through hands-on work in various roles. I live in Owen County with my husband Jason and our children, Emilee and Jadon. Outside of work, I enjoy being outdoors and spending time with my family and friends.

Hello! My name is Lindsay Smith and I am one of the Owen County District Nurses. I am stationed at Maurice Bowling Middle School. I have been stationed at the middle school since the 2021-2022 school year. I enjoy taking care of the special needs of children this age. I attended the University of Kentucky College of Nursing and graduated in 2005. I live in Owen County with my husband, Josh Smith. We have 3 sons named Hatcher, Hayes and Holder. Outside of work you can find us at Basketball, Baseball, Golf or Cross Country with our sons.
