Attached is the updated school calendar, reflecting all snow day cancellations up to this point. Please note a specific change approved by the Board of Education for Friday, March 14th. The original calendar listed Friday, March 14th as a "Planning Day" for staff, however, that day is now an instructional day with students.
As of now, the last day of school for students is Friday, May 30th and the last day for staff is Tuesday, June 3rd.
Please keep in mind that the calendar is subject to change due to various reasons, including weather, illness, or unforeseen issues that would prevent the district from operating. Also, there is legislation being considered that may have an impact on the school calendar. We will continue to update you on any further adjustments made by the Board.

Attention students and parents: Class scheduling for the 2025-2026 school year will begin on Thursday, February 6th and continue through Tuesday, February 18th. Students will bring home scheduling materials for you to review together. While students will enter their course requests with the help of an adult at school, both students and parents will have the ability to make changes to those requests in Infinite Campus until March 1st. If you have any questions, please reach out to the guidance department at OCHS.

There will be a scheduling event at the OCHS Media Center for parents and students to ask questions about courses and scheduling for the 2025-2026 school year. The event will run from 3:00 to 5:15 PM on February 13th. Following that, there will be a Dual Credit Information Meeting from 5:15 to 5:45 PM for any students interested in taking college-level (dual credit) classes for the first time. If you can not make this event, feel free to call the guidance office for an appointment.

It's hard to believe that we are looking ahead to the next school year. However, attached to this post you will find the approved 2025-26 school calendar. Please make note of these important dates as you plan ahead.

We had high hopes that we would be back in school tomorrow. However, after evaluating the conditions of our bus turnarounds, we still feel it is unsafe. Therefore, Owen County Schools will not hold in-person classes on Tuesday, Jan. 14th. This will be NTI Day #5. Students should follow their school’s NTI plan. Please contact your child’s teacher(s) and/or school administrators with any questions.
Lastly, I want to apologize that we are not back in school. We miss our students and want to be back in session. I want to thank each of our students and their families for their patience and understanding as we continue to deal with last week’s winter storm.
We look forward to seeing everyone soon! Be safe and stay warm.

Due to the condition of a few roads and a lot of our bus turnarounds, Owen County Schools will not hold in-person classes on Monday, Jan. 13th. This will be NTI Day #4. Students should follow their school’s NTI plan. Please contact your child's school with any questions.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.

With January 10th being a traditional snow day, please see the updated calendar for the remainder of the 2024-2025 School Year!
