Devices will be available in every classroom to support intentional and meaningful learning experiences rather than assigning devices to each student (except for OCHS dual credit or credit recovery students). As a reminder, dual credit students will be issued Chromebooks during Open House as this is how our post-secondary partners deliver instruction.
The use of technology is just one of the many instructional tools our teachers and students have access to in their classrooms to enhance teacher instruction and student learning. However, this shift reflects our belief in a balanced approach to technology where devices are available as a meaningful instructional tool while reducing the passive, all-day screen time.
More information on the instructional use of Chromebooks will follow in the coming weeks. So, please be on the lookout for additional details as we continue to prepare our students for success while promoting responsible and appropriate use of technology. Thank you for your continued support as we implement this change and work together to prepare our students for success.
